6G program director joins diverse group of experts to advise FCC on technology policy

SANTA ROSA, Calif., March 9, 2022–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: KEYS), a leading technology company that provides advanced design and validation solutions to help accelerate innovation to connect and secure the world, announced that Roger Nichols, Director of the 6G Program at Keysight, has been appointed to Technology Advisory Council (TAC) for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), an independent US government agency that regulates communications in the United States and abroad.

Roger Nichols joins a diverse group of leading technology experts selected by FCC Chairman Jessica Rosenworcel to provide technical expertise in several important areas, including 6G, artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced sharing spectrum, as well as emerging wireless technologies. Their advice will support the development of informed technology policies that support US competitiveness in the global economy.

A global subject matter expert 5G, 6Gopen radio access network (ORAN) and live (OTA) testing technologies, Nichols is the second Keysight executive to be appointed to the TAC. Satish Dhanasekaran, currently Chief Operating Officer of Keysight, was appointed to the TAC in 2019. Through Nichols, Keysight will continue to play an important role in the FCC, sharing the knowledge the company has gained through close collaborations with industry in the private and public sectors around the world.
