The Russian Federal Security Service, or FSB, has hired a female agent to work for its main successor agency, the Federal Security Agency.
The agency announced the hiring in a news release on Monday, adding that the agency is still recruiting for more than 500 employees.
It said the woman will work in the agency’s headquarters in the northern city of Novosibirsk.
In December, Russia appointed a woman to be deputy director of the FSB.
It has been known for years that the FSU, or Federal Security Bureau, is the successor agency to the FEDS, the predecessor agency of the Soviet KGB.
The FSB is an agency of President Vladimir Putin’s ruling United Russia party.
It is also closely tied to his political party, and is tasked with investigating, preventing and countering the spread of “foreign propaganda.”
The agency said it will be led by a woman who will join the FSS as a deputy director.
FSU spokeswoman Elena Khabibova told the AP that the recruitment of the first female officer is a step toward furthering the agency “for the advancement of women and women’s rights.”
She said the agency plans to launch an online recruitment site in the next few months.
The hiring of a woman will be part of an effort to recruit more women, and in a bid to attract female recruits, the FSDB will also soon have a recruitment center in Moscow.
The Federal Security Department also announced that it has created a “feminist recruitment” agency for women in Moscow, and that it will begin accepting applications this summer.
The announcement came on the heels of a New York Times report that detailed the agency and its ties to Putin.
The Times said that the Russian spy agency, FSB and the FSFB were created in the 1980s by Soviet secret services and have become the main partners of Russia’s military.
The news agency said the FFSB, or the Federal Service for Foreign Intelligence, is “the successor agency” of the KGB.
“These agencies, along with the Feds foreign intelligence service, have become a central component of the Russian military, the KGB, which has a significant influence on the country’s politics and foreign policy,” the Times said.
Russia has been under a US-led investigation for alleged interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.
The investigation was launched after the FBI and NSA allegedly gathered evidence of alleged Russian efforts to interfere in the election, according to The New York Daily News.
The newspaper said Russian hackers gained access to Democratic Party computer networks and the emails of Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta, and then released emails stolen from the Democratic National Committee.
The Associated, the Washington Post and NBC News also reported that the FBI also obtained hacked emails from the DNC.
Putin has denied any involvement in the hacking.
The Russian Foreign Ministry has also denied the allegations.
“No one is trying to influence the election and we are not engaged in any form of hacking,” spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Sunday.
“There is no Russian involvement in this campaign.
Russia does not take part in any hacking of elections, not even in the most insignificant cases.”
The FSU is a successor agency of FEDA, the successor of the former KGB.
In the 1980’s, FEDF was created to fight foreign propaganda and “foreign infiltration” into the Russian economy.
Putin appointed his former FEDSO chief, Aleksandr Dugin, as the head of the agency in 2015.
He is a prolific propagandist, who has often claimed that the U.K. has been infiltrated by Muslim “subhumans” who want to destroy Christianity and Jews.
Dugin has denied the charges, saying that the Kremlin’s main objective is to “restore Russia to its former glory.”
Dugin also has criticized the United States for failing to take action to defend Russia against foreign aggression, saying: “The West should be proud of the fact that it’s the only one in the world that doesn’t recognize this threat.”
The Washington Post reported on Sunday that the new FSS director will be tasked with overseeing the countrys nuclear arsenal and nuclear command.
She will also be responsible for overseeing the FMSF, the main branch of the country´s nuclear command and control.
The report said the new director would be “one of the most powerful men in Russia” and will oversee a new branch of Russia´s secret service, known as the FSM, which is responsible for all foreign operations.
